Hoyle Jefferson Tarleton, 84 of Rockcrusher Rd., Lexington died at 3:52 PM Wednesday in
Thomasville Medical Center. A funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at Greer’s Chapel were he was a member, with the Revs. Lori Ann Bowen and Chris Bennett. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Tarleton was born in Mecklenburg County, on January 31, 1925 to Hoyle Samuel Tarleton and Pearl Shaffer Tarleton. He was owner and operator of Red Barn Fish Camp and served in the US Navy during WWII. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Mary Smith.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Barber Tarleton of the home, son Michael Tarleton of Lexington; daughter, Jeffrey Brown and husband Allen of Thomasville, 4 grandchildren, Casey Tarleton, Angie Tarleton, Benjie Brown and Vince Brown, great grandchildren Sierra Brown, Allison Brown, Aubrey Brown, Morgan Brown and Jackson Tarleton, Hunter and Tanner Jordan and sister Doris Trogdon of Lexington.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel at other times at the home on Rockcrusher Rd.
