Mr. Hoyle Glenn Yarbrough, 77, of Welcome, died Saturday, January 2, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center after a short illness. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 5 at the Davidson Funeral Home-Hickory Tree Chapel. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mr. Yarbrough was born October 10, 1932 in Concord, NC to George Washington Yarbrough and Lillie Mae Simpson Yarbrough. He was a long time member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He also retired from the Pony Express and served in the Coast Guard. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert E. Yarbrough and George Earl Yarbrough; and his sisters, Grace Yarbrough Parham and Helen Yarbrough Hassig. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Kerley Yarbrough; his sons, Eric Glenn Yarbrough of Asheville, Aaron Hoyle Yarbrough of Welcome, and Daniel Kyle Yarbrough, and wife, Tonya, of Welcome; his daughters, Susan Renae Yarbrough Smith and husband, Richard, of Pawleys Island, SC, and Lisa Dianne Yarbrough Bovender, and husband, Eric of Welcome; his brothers, William Edward Yarbrough, and wife, Mae, of Concord, and Rev. Jack B. Yarbrough, and wife, Sylvia, of Winston Salem; and his sisters, Billie Ann Yarbrough Dabbs of Gastonia, and Sylvia Elaine Yarbrough Queen, and husband, Bill, of Mooresville. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, Kristen Bovender, Jordan Bovender, Justin Yarbrough, Zachary Yarbrough, Sawyer Bowens. Many nephews and nieces, and a multitude of friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday at Davidson Funeral Home-Hickory Tree Chapel and other times at the home.
