Hubert Garrison

Hubert Garrison, age 87 of Hickory Street, Lexington died Sunday, August 31, 2008 in Brian Center Nursing Home .  A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at Forest Hill Memorial Park with Rev. Clyde Akers officiating. Mr. Garrison was born October 25, 1920 in Watkinsville, GA to James Edgar Garrison and Mary Covington Garrison.  He was a retired employee of Dacotah Cotton Mill and a member of Freedom Baptist Church.  Preceding him in death were five brothers, Harvey Garrison, Claude Garrison, Ed Garrison, Curt Garrison, Hoyt Garrison, Grover Garrison and two sisters, Mae Zimmerman and Willie Grace Varner. Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Velna Medlin Garrison of the home; a son, Jimmy Garrison of Lexington, daughters, Betty Livengood and Mary Jane Martin both of Lexington, 8 grandchildren and  12 great grandchildren.
