Hugh "H.W." Wallace Davis Jr.

Hugh “H.W.” Wallace Davis Jr, 85, of Lexington, passed away peacefully Friday, April 12, 2024, at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Churchland Baptist Church with Rev. Stephen Martin officiating.

Burial will follow the service in the Davis Cemetery.

The family will greet friends prior to the service in the church from 1:00 – 2:00 PM and will receive friends at other times at the Davis’s home.

H.W. was born on June 24, 1938, in Davidson County, to the late Hugh Wallace Davis and Marguerite Louise Fitzgerald Davis. He was a retired truck driver and a member of Churchland Baptist Church.

H.W. graduated from Churchland High School in 1956, then served his country in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Uhlmann from 1956 – 1959 and went on to become a Master Mason and a member of Lexington Memorial Lodge 0473

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters Jackie Barnes, Mary Helen Lord, and Louise Cooper; son-in-law Mike Brinkle; and daughter-in-law Kristie Davis.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Marcine Berrier Davis, of the home; daughters Pattie Brinkle of Lexington NC, Donna Tussey (Mike) of Richmond Hill GA; sons, Eddie Davis of Lexington NC, and Ben Davis (Jamie) of Lexington NC; his grandchildren, Shaun Brinkle (Morgan), Chad Brinkle (Leighanne), Lindsay Kimbrell (Zach), Julia Davis (Jacob), Chris Davis (Carmen); and great grandchildren, Lilly Kimbrell, Reid Kimbrell, Emilia Brinkle, and Byrdie Brinkle.
