Ida Mae Freeman

Ida Mae Whitley Freeman, age 91, of Lexington, passed away Thursday evening at her residence after an illness of 5 weeks. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday April 30, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Welcome, where she was a member of the Sanctuary Sunday School Class, conducted by Rev. Mark Blair. Burial will be at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will see friends 6-8:30 p.m. Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel and other times at the residence. Ida was born in Davidson County, July 9, 1920 to David Andrew Whitley and Effie Mae Alley Whitley. She was a homemaker. She was married to J.R. Freeman who preceded her in death in 1986. She also, was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and two sisters. Surviving are: daughter, Carolyn Walser and husband Wade Talbert Walser of Lexington; sons, Danny Freeman and wife Linda, Gary Freeman and wife Janet, and Sammy Freeman and wife Debra all of Lexington, Tim Freeman and wife Amy of Churchland; ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; brother, Rayford Whitley of Winston-Salem. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials can be made to donor’s choice. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is assisting the family.
