Ida Thomason Younts

Ida Thomason Younts, age 86 of Bowers Rd., Lexington died Thursday, December 11, 2008 in Centerclair Nursing Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 13, 2008 in Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Arnold Lewinger and Rev. Sarah Snell officiating. Burial will follow at New Friendship United Church of Christ Cemetery. Mrs. Younts was born May 12, 1922 in Davidson County to William Gaither Thomason and Zula Ruth Everhart Thomason. A former employee of Lexington Furniture, she was member of New Friendship United Church of Christ, a member of the Eastern Star Lexington 98 and a Lifetime member of Davis Townsend Lions Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Lindsay Younts, November 28, 1958. Surviving are two sons, Johnny Ray Thomason and wife, Sally of Lexington, Lindsay Turner Younts of the home, two daughters, Hilda Mae Thomason Penninger and husband, Terry, Libby Holder and husband, Martin all of Lexington, four grandchildren, five great grandchildren; a brother, David Thomason and wife, Shirley of Lexington, three sisters, Loula Mae Decker, Mable Ruth Thomason and Reba Ann Berrier all of Lexington. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday at DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME, INC. and other times at the home of Johnny Ray Thomason, 600 Younts Rd., Lexington.
