Idris Muhammad

Idris Muhammad, 64, born as Derrick Veriaine Dalton, of Greensboro passed away November 11, 2024, at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.

A celebration of his life will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday, November 17, 2024, at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will see friends one hour before the service.

Idris was born January 14, 1960, in New York, to Harvey Lee Dalton and Patricia Ann Paisley Dalton. Was a veteran having served in both the US Navy and US Marines, was a Mason and retired in medical services. His passion was his faith, family and especially his grandchildren. Idris was a loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle, who will be missed by all.

Left to cherish his memories are his son, Derrick Verlaine Dalton Jr., daughters, Marquita Necole Dalton Williams (Jarrod), Naquia Monet Dalton, his parents Harvey Lee Dalton and Patricia Ann Paisley Dalton, sister, Anitra Dalton White (Gordon), brothers; Charlton Terrence Dalton (Betty), all of North Carolina and Reginald Connelly Dalton of New Jersey. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Kierre J. Sims, Kamora S. Williams, Jeremiah E. J Chapman, nieces and nephews, Andre Terence Dalton, Alisha Rochelle Dalton, Dayo Zalika Dalton, Zendaya Dalton, Tsani Cien Dalton of New Jersey, and a host of other uncles, aunts, and cousins.
