Ina Kearns Smith

Ina Kearns Smith, age 88, of Lexington passed away peacefully on Friday, November 10, 2017 at Grayson Creek.   A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 14th at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington with Dr. Ray Howell, III, and Revs. Greg Dickens and Rick Charles officiating.  The family will receive friends and family from 12:30 to 1:30 prior to the service.   Ina was born on February 9, 1929 in Davidson County to Gurnie Lawrence Kearns and Dorothy Whitaker Kearns.  She worked as a manager for Ingram Cleaners.  She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 69 years, Clarence Bryce Smith, Sr. and several brothers and sisters, and her cat, Duke Edwin Smith.   She is survived by her sons Clarence Bryce Smith, Jr. (MJ) and Douglas Edwin Smith (significant other Vicki McLemore) of Lexington; brothers, G. L. Kearns and Marvin Kearns and sister, Clara Walton also of Lexington.   The family wishes to give special thanks to Kate B.
