Inez Atkins

Inez Overcash Adkins, age 86, of Welcome Arcadia Road, Lexington went home to be with the Lord Sunday morning (May 29, 2011) at her home. The funeral will be 2 pm Tuesday at Reedy Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Egbert Craven officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friendsfrom 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington and at other times at the home. Mrs. Adkins was born November 11, 1924, in Pittsylvania County, Va., to Charles Gerney Overcash and Hattie Mae Ozment Overcash. She was a spinner at Erlanger Mills and of the Christian faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Overcash. Surviving are daughter, Peggy Weaver of Lexington; grandchildren, Randy Weaver and wife, Leandra, of Welcome, and Melanie Herndon of Lexington; great-grandchildren, Billy Weaver and wife, Kelly, Joseph “Bubby” Weaver, both of Southmont, Misty Therrell and husband, Chris and Tiffany Herndon, all of Lexington; brother, Charles Overcash Jr. of South Carolina; and sister, Helen Overcash Turner of Florida.
