Inez Garris, beloved wife and mother, of Snider Avenue, died Tuesday, August 21, 2007, at her home, following a brief illness.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2007, at Davidson Funeral Home by Brother George Hurd and Brother Paul Carter.
Mrs. Garris was born April 29, 1933 in Wilkes County to John Truman Harris and Stella Davis Harris. She was a specialty cook and greeter at the family owned, Hendrix Barbecue Salisbury. She loved children, flowers and people, everyone she met she had a hug for and will be sorely missed by all.
Surviving are her husband, John Junior Garris of the home; sons, Billy Garris of Salisbury, and Timmy Garris and wife, Patricia, of Woodleaf; daughters, Sherry Ingram and husband, Johnny, of Hamptonville, and Johnsie Moorefield and husband, Charlie, of Lexington;grandchildren, Tammy Palmer, Chris Harris, Shana Coker, Brian Garris, Dana Garris and Timmy Garris; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Tommy Harris and wife, Susie, of Hamptonville; and sisters, Dela Combs and special friend, Ken Cheeks, of Jonesville and Bernice Speight and husband, Ernest, of Dobson.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home on Snider Avenue.
