Inez Swicegood Garrison

March 8, 1911 — February 23, 2008

Vaudy Inez Swicegood Garrison, 96 of Goodluck Drive died Saturday, February 23, 2008 at her home. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Monday at First Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Michael Greer and Brother Dewey Everhart officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Garrison was born on March 8, 1911 in Davidson County to Julius Swicegood and Cora Fritts Swicegood. She was a member of First Wesleyan Church where she was a member of the Wesleyan Women, Senior Adult Sunday Sunday_School Class and helped clean the church. Her church was her “love and joy”. She had also worked at Dixie Furniture and Erlanger Mills. She was preceded in death by her husband Claude Garrison who died in 1974 and sons Archie Garrison, Carlton Garrison and Dallas Garrison; sisters Lettie Curry, Lilly Phillips, Vernzell Walser and Geneva Bostain. She is survived by a son, Ernest Garrison and his wife Janice and a daughter Angelene G. Everhart and her husband Dewey all of Lexington; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren; a sister Grace Huffman of Lexington and sister-in-law Alice Swicegood of Midway. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington and other times at the home.
