Inez Rickard Rickard

Inez Rickard Rickard , 94, of Alston Brook Nursing Home, formerly of Lamb Road, died Monday, March 19, 2007, at the nursing home. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Churchland Baptist Church, where she was a member, by the Rev. Ray Howell IV. Mrs. Rickard was born in Davidson County on Sept. 17, 1912, to Lewis Edwin Rickard and Mary Louise Lomax Rickard. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elgie L. Rickard, in 1975; two grandchildren, Donald Ray Shaw Jr. and Franklin Neal Shaw; and two brothers, Edwin Rickard and Ottis Rickard. Surviving are one daughter, Peggy Rickard Parker of Lexington; three grandchildren, Diane S. Spears of Thomasville and Elgie Keith Shaw and Brian Jewell Shaw, both of Lexington; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Irene Rickard Barrier of Thomasville, Idalia Rickard Snider of Salisbury and Lena Rickard Snider of Linwood. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, and other times at the home of her daughter at 767 Lamb Road.
