Ingeborg Vandervliet Fowler

Ingeborg Vandervliet Fowler, age 93, of Lexington, NC, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017. Inge was born on April 26, 1923, in Hechlingen, Germany, the daughter of Georg and Martha Heiss.  She immigrated to Canada in 1956 and then relocated to the United States in 1961 and became a naturalized citizen.  Inge worked as a registered nurse for many years, was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening, traveling and spending time at her camp in Canada.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur William Fowler; sister, Jutta (Judith) Grillenberger, and her brother, Joachim Heiss.  Inge is survived by her sister, Erica Gerstberger and brother  Ehrenfried Heiss, both of Germany; and her stepchildren, Arthur Fowler, Jr. and his wife, Mary, of Saratoga Springs, NY; Michael Fowler and his wife, Belle, of Englewood, FL; Richard Fowler, of Florissant, MO; Christopher Fowler of Mission Viejo, CA; Deborah Laskiewicz, of San Angelo, TX; Kevin Fowler and his wife, Karen, of Huntington, WV; Herbert Fowler of Fayetteville, NY; Keith Fowler of Everett, WA; Timothy Fowler, Leslie LaValley and her husband,Thomas, Karen Fortunatus, and Michele Maddix, all of Plattsburgh, NY.  There will be no calling hours or services.  Entombment was at Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum.
