Ira "Iv" Vernon Swicegood

Ira Vernon IV Swicegood, 95 of Meadowview Road in Lexington, died Saturday, August 3, 2019.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Evans officiating services.

Burial will follow at 3:00 pm at Little Pine Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Ennice, NC, with Rev. Rev. Eddie Wooten conducting graveside services.

The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service, from 9:30 to 10:30 at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel.

Mr. Swicegood was born April 7, 1924, in Davidson County to Willy Bayne Swicegood and Ella Walser Swicegood. Mr. Swicegood was a member of Little Pine Church of the Brethren and retired from Piedmont Airlines. He was preceded in death by his wife Cleo Vaughan Swicegood; his parents; three brothers, Arlie Swicegood, Paul Swicegood, and Vilas Swicegood; four sisters, Eula Weaver, Louise Lanning, Dorothy Koonts, and Naomi Leonard; and one grandchild Angie Hammonds.

Surviving are two sons; Ronald Swicegood(Linda),  and Joe Swicegood (Viola) both of Lexington; two sisters, Geraldine Ketner  of Lexington and Joretta Davis ( Bob) of Midway; 2 grandchildren, Minnee Byrd (Mark) and Vicki Caldwell (Jay); 4 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; and 1 grandson-in-law Jeff Hammonds.
