Ira Gilbert Poston

Ira Gilbert Poston, 86 of Spring Drive, Lexington, died Friday March 10, 2006 in Lexington Health Care. Mr. Poston was born in Davidson County on August 15, 1919 to James Franklin Poston and Margaret Alexander Poston. He was retired from Proctor Schwartz and a member of Sheets Memorial Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the US Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Gray Poston and his parents, brothers, Byron, Marion and James Poston and sisters, Catherine Poston and Eleanor Poston Goss. Surviving is a sister, Ruth Poston Harper of Lexington, and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday in the Forest Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The servcie will be conducted by Rev. George Harper. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 pm Monday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington and other times at the home of his sister, Ruth Harper, 205 E. Tenth Street.
