Hazel Irene Younts Crotts, 77, of Beck's Church Road, died Thursday, July 19, 2007, at High Point Regional Hospital. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Beck's Reformed Church, where she was a member, by the Rev. Gerald Sanders. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Irene was not only a loving wife and mother but will be remembered by so many friends and neighbors as a kind-hearted woman who never forgot a card for a birthday or special occasion and who always knew just the right way to be there for you in a time of need. She genuinely touched this community with her thoughtfulness and her joyful spirit. Irene's years were spent working in the church, and after her husband's retirement, traveling with family and friends enjoying the simple beauty of God's landscape. Mrs. Crotts was born in Davidson County on July 22, 1929, to Elwood Younts and Thelma Conrad Younts. She was a lifetime Sunday school teacher, member of the church choir and Ladies Circle No. 1. Surviving are her husband, Bobbie Crotts Sr. of the home; two sons, Eugene Crotts and his wife, Brenda, of Brunswick, Ga., and Bradley Crotts and his wife, Michelle, of Monroe; one daughter, Vickie Angell and her husband, Nat, of Lexington; eight grandchildren, Alexanderia Crotts, Bobby Joe Crotts and his wife, P.J., Athena Brummett and her husband, Randall, Brandon Crotts, Tyler Crotts, Madeline Crotts, Tad Angell and his wife, Deanne, and Jennifer Angell and her fiance, Nate Brink; 10 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Wade Younts and his wife, Myrtie, and Sherrill Younts and his wife, Jill, all of Lexington. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Beck's Reformed Choir or Cemetery Fund, 2845 Beck's Church Road, Lexington, NC 27292.
