Irene Forrest

Irene Hicks Forrest, 70 of Jubilee Rd., Linwood went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday January 4, 2011 in Kate B. Reynolds in Winston Salem after an illness of 6 months. A funeral service will be Friday at 2:00 PM at Christian Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Harvey officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at the Christian Baptist Church and at other times at the home of her daughter, 588 Jubilee Rd. Lexington, NC. Mrs. Forrest was born in Haywood County on December 20, 1940 to Oliver Hicks and Letha Packett Hicks. At Christian Baptist Church she was a very active member. She was a loving mother, and was loved by all. Irene will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was retired from Duracell Battery Company. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Billy Forrest and her son Bruce Fisher. Surviving are daughter Annette Eggleston and husband Robert of Linwood; granddaughter, Crystal Eggleston of Lexington and step grandchildren, Loretta Burgess and husband Wes; Kay Donathon and husband Rick and Bobby Eggleston; great grandchildren, Kali and Cameron and step great grandchildren, Michael and Summer. She is also survived by a very special friend, Hobert Fisher of Lexington. Memorials may be directed to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston Salem, NC 27103.
