Irene Trexler

  Irene Hamilton Trexler, age 90, of Lexington passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Lexington Health Care.   A funeral service will be held at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 with the Rev. Benny Clodfelter officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.   The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm prior to the service.   Mrs. Trexler was born in Montgomery County on July 17, 1926 to Iron Lee Hamilton and Fuschia Sanders Hamilton. She was a retired weaver from Erlanger Mills and also worked for Burlington Industries. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer D. Trexler; and three brothers, Rev. James Hamilton, Brooks Hamilton, and Burnest Lee Hamilton.   Surviving are two sons, Roger Trexler and wife Onie of N. Myrtle Beach, SC and David Trexler and wife Ann of Homer, GA; two daughters, Karen Idol and husband Eddie of Newport, NC and Susan Story and husband David of Lexington, NC; two sisters, Jane Monroe of Tallahassee, FL and Sara Haruyama of Oakland, CA; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and a special care giver, Rhonda Miller.   Memorials may be directed to Bethany United Methodist Church at 193 Bethany Church Road Lexington, NC 27292.
