Iris Griffin Musgrave

Iris Griffin Musgrave, age 83 of Lexington Health Care formerly of Hinkle Lane, Welcome Community, passed away Monday morning at Lexington Health Care.  Funeral service will be 3:00 pm Wednesday (8-5-2009) at First Baptist Church of Welcome, with Rev. Mark Blair and Dr. Tommy Kiker officiating.  Entombment will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum.   Iris was born in Jones County, NC on September 17, 1925 to James Bryant Griffin and Lela Heath Griffin.  She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Welcome. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Eddie Beacom Musgrave, September 4, 2008, four brothers, Ralph, Walter, Durante and Wallace Griffin; two sisters, Mable Mills and Ruth Rouse.   Surviving are: two daughters, Judy Yarbrough and husband Larry and Patricia Call and husband Craig all of Lexington; one son, Larry Musgrave and wife Patti of Lexington; seven grandchildren, Sharon Y. Hartley, Brian Musgrave, Carol Ann Y. Kiker, Christina Y. Church, Matthew Musgrave, Katie Call Rose and Anna Call; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sally Shoemaker, of Lexington and Louise Hill of Kinston; one brother, James Griffin. of Kinston.   The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 until 3:00 pm, prior to the service, and at other times at the home of Judy and Larry Yarbrough, Virginia Road, Welcome.   The family would like to thank the entire staff of Lexington Health Care for all the love and support given to Mrs. Musgrave and her family over the years.   Memorials may be directed to the Benevolence Fund, First Baptist Church of Welcome, PO Box 269, Welcome, NC  27374.   Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
