Iris Pullen Whitley, 91, of Lexington Health Care and formerly of Dellwood Drive, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2007, at Lexington Health Care after a short illness.
The funeral will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday at Sheets Memorial Baptist Church, where she was a member, led by the Rev. Frankie Matthews and the Rev. Eddie Pullen. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Mrs. Whitley was born Oct. 27, 1915, in Lincoln County, Ga., to Henry Branham Cox and Dempie Walton Cox. She was a retired site manager for Davidson County Senior Services. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas Osburn Whitley; a son, Edward Boswell Pullen; and a sister, Inez C. Harper.
Surviving are two daughters, Gwen P. Swing and her husband, Tommy, and Elizabeth P. Weaver and her husband, Don; a daughter-in-law, Lois Pullen of Morristown, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the church.
