Ivey Jewel Young Hodnett, 86, of Helmstetler Road, died Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, at Wake Forest Baptist Health — Lexington Medical Center.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum by the Rev. Ronnie Rummage. The family will receive friends following the service at Wayside Baptist Tabernacle, Fellowship Hall.
Mrs. Hodnett was born on March 21, 1925, in Henry County, Va., to John Nathaniel Young and Cora Bradley Young. She was head cashier at Taylor Supermarket in Martinsville, Va., and a member of Wayside Baptist Tabernacle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Muncey Young, Melvin Young, Claude Young, Grady Young, Roy Young, Haley Young and Dudley Young; and sister, Mary Elliott.
Surviving are her husband, Randolph Clayton Hodnett of the home; son, Bobby Hodges and wife Betsy of Nebo; daughters, Bonnie Hodges Lackey and husband Roger of Lexington and Jennifer Hollandsworth and husband Phillip of Rural Hall; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Harry Young of Martinsville and Robert Young of Tuscaloosa, Ala.
