J. C. Scott

April 26, 1925 — November 12, 2020

Mr. J.C. Scott, 95, of Lexington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at his home.

A public graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Good Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Reverend Joseph Fulk, III officiating. The family will see friends after the service at the cemetery.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic facial masks and social distancing is requested.

J.C. was born in Davidson County, NC on April 26, 1925 to the late Joe Cecil Scott and Addie Zimmerman Scott.

Before his retirement he was a construction worker for RJR.  Mr. Scott was a devoted and loving father and grandfather, known fondly by many in the Reedy Creek community. J.C. was a member of Good Hope United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Irene Scott; and his sisters, Nealie Mendenhall and Vada Lee Koonts.

Loved ones left to cherish his memory include his son, Robert Van Scott and wife Linda of Lexington; his two grandsons, Brian Scott (Rianne) of Zeist, The Netherlands; and Keith Scott (Jennifer) of Lexington; great-grandchildren: Ayden Scott; Erynn Scott; Carson Scott; and Madison Pennington (Josh); along with two great-great grandchildren: Rosalina and River; and his loving pet companion, Pepper.

In lieu of flowers, you may honor J.C.’s memory with memorials made to: The Back-Pack Fund at Good Hope UMC.

Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is serving the family.
