J R Roberts

J R Roberts, 87 of Weaver Road in Lexington, passed away Friday, July 16, 2021 at his home. He went peacefully with his family by his side.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Sunday at First Baptist Church in Welcome, where he was a member, with Rev. Jonathan Goodman and Rev. Mark Blair conducting services. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 Sunday at the church and other times at the home.

Mr. Roberts was born August 30, 1933 in Yadkin County to Reynolds Roberts and Lessie Money Roberts.  Mr. Roberts enjoyed gardening, loved his church and family, and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was retired from Lexington Furniture Industries and was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Grady Roberts, Bill Roberts and Leo Roberts; and two sisters, Doretha Morrison and Annie Holloman.

Surviving is his wife of 68 years, Nannie Freedle Roberts of the home; a son Steve Roberts (Tracy) of Lexington; a granddaughter, Carley Mitchell (Chase) of Lexington and his beloved granddog Roxy.
