J. V. Everhart age 84 of Welcome-Arcadia Road, Lexington passed away Saturday afternoon August 1, 2015 at Trinity Elms of Clemmons.
A military service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday August 5, 2015 at Salisbury National Cemetery with Rev. David Langley officiating and military honors by Davidson County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Tuesday night.
J.V. was born in Davidson County, March 21, 1931 to Lester Raymond and Beulah Phillips Everhart. He was a retired employee of Council Craftsman Furniture and also worked with Dixie and Stanley Furniture. He was a craftsman and refinisher of wood. He attended Leonard Road Baptist Church; a veteran of the US Navy having served in the Korean War and a member of VFW Post 3074. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Roy, Reuben, James, Eddie and Jerry Everhart.
Surviving are his daughter, Belinda York (Stacy) of Lexington; son, Curtis “Chase” Everhart (Darryl) of Berkley Springs, W. VA; grandchildren, Kaylee York Foster (Michael) and Emilee York; great-grandson, Colton Foster; sisters, Sue Cross of Lexington and Judy Bowles of Youngstown, Ohio.
