Jack Leroy Holifield, 71, of Cow Palace Road, died Monday, August 16, 2010, at his home.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Thursday, August 19, 2010, at Psalm 91 church, where he was a member, with the Revs. Max Shoaf and Johnny Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. at the church prior to the service, and other times at the home.
Mr. Holifield was born January 31, 1939, to Rex Holifield and Ethel Nelson Holifield. He was a retired truck driver; served in the U.S. Army; was a member of Amvets Post 13 and American Legion Post 8. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Holifield; and sisters, Pauline Garland and Mildred Cooper.
Surviving are: his wife, Velma Chrisley Holifield of the home; sons, Jamie Holifield and wife, Shelly, Jackie Holifield and wife, Cindy, Johnny Chrisley and wife, Lisa, Jeff Chrisley and wife, Amy, Joey Cantwell and wife, Kimberly, all of Lexington; grandchildren, David, Patrick, Carson, Troy, Jared, Shana, Taylor, Ali, Delanie, Brianna, Rex, Rusty, Ricky, Kyler, and Trent; brother, Monroe Bucannan of Popular; and sisters, Loraine Henley and husband, Charles, Delores Manning, Barbara Clark and husband, Jack, all of Greenfield, In., Nancy Brothers and husband, Dave, of Tucson, Az.; and many nieces and nephews.
