November 20, 1933 — January 1, 2021

Jackson “Jack” Snyder Smith, age 87 of Lexington, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2021 at his home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, January 5th at Reeds Baptist Church Cemetery with Revs. Gary Gibson and Henry Watterson officiating. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to practice social distancing and wear a mask. Jack was born on November 20, 1933 in Davidson County to Noah Alexander and Lessie Laura Snyder Smith. He retired as a brick mason with Koontz Masonry and was a member of Reeds Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark Jackson Smith; brothers, Weldon and Gene Smith and a sister, Lorene Shoaf. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Sylvia Rae Livengood Smith, of the home; daughter, Beverly Smith Cornatzer (Kim) of Lexington; two grandchildren, Autumn Snow (Kelly) and Tyler Cornatzer (Breanna); four great-grandchildren, Katie Snow, Emily Snow, T.J. Snow, Matthew Snow; brother, Nolan Smith of Lexington and sisters, Evelyn Sink and Pattie Payne, both of Lexington and Betty Campbell of Morganton. The family wishes a special thanks to go to all of Mr. Jack’s caregivers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27295 or Reeds Baptist Church, 180 Reeds Baptist Church Road, Lexington, NC 27295.
