Lloyd Jack Trantham Sr., 85, of Jersey Church Road, died Friday, January 23, 2015, at Hinkle Hospice House of Lexington after a period of declining health.
The funeral service will be 11 am Tuesday, January 27 at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Thomas Todd. Burial with military rites will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Monday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of a nephew, Mike Trantham, 1549 Jersey Church Road, Lexington.
Mr. Trantham was born July 7, 1929, in Davidson County, to Harvey Lee Trantham and Lottie Belle Cooper Trantham. He was a veteran of the US Army, retired from Bill Link Texaco and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frankie Lanning Trantham, a son, Lloyd Jack Trantham Jr.; his brother, Arthur Lee “Cotton” Trantham; and his sister, Geneva Burkhart.
Surviving are his grandchildren, Brian Trantham and wife, Elizabeth, and Andy Trantham, all of Lexington; great-grandchildren, Karrington Trantham, Nicholas Trantham and Peyton Trantham; his nephews, Mike Trantham and wife, Tonya, and Kelly Trantham; and his nieces, Cathy Trantham, Tammy Wright and husband, Craig, Erica Trantham, and Francis Jarrell.
