Jack Yarborough

Jack Yarborough, 97, died January 31, 2026 at Hinkle House Hospice, Lexington, NC.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Center Hill Baptist Church with Reverend Sandy Young officiating. The family will visit with friends preceding the service in the church sanctuary at 1:00 PM.

A native of Lexington, Jack was the son of the late Bessie J. and Roland Bryan Yarbrough. He was employed by Billings Transfer in Lexington for most of his working life and retired in 1993. In retirement he ran his own small engine and lawnmower repair business. He served several times on the Board of Deacons at Center Hill Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he also was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Rebecca S. Yarborough, brothers Lee, Bill, and Edward.

Survivors include; Darrell Yarborough and husband Richard Berns of Chicago, IL, Jackie Fulbright and husband Eric of Myrtle Beach, SC, Rick Yarborough and wife Kim of Lexington; granddaughters Amy Walser (Dylan Standish), Emily Guenther (D.J.), and Erica Yarborough and fiancé Ryan Fidlow; great-granddaughter Zadie Standish, great-grandson Slade Guenther; one sister, Elsie Y. Miller; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Special appreciation from the family is given to Angie Byars, who was Jack’s dedicated caregiver before he went into skilled care and hospice.
