Jackie Alvin Leonard

Jackie Alvin Leonard, 82, of Lexington, passed away July 23, 2023, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem.

A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Forest Hill Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Sandy Young officiating and military rites to follow. The family will receive friends following the service at the home on Tall Pines Rd., Lexington.

Mr. Leonard was born September 9, 1940, in Davidson County, to Robert Lee Leonard Sr., and Pearl Craver Leonard.  Jackie was a member of Center United Methodist Church. He was a veteran having served in the US Army National Guard, was retired from the Davidson County Landfill. He loved watching his T.V. Nascar and sports cars. His passion was his family especially his special niece, Tammy Sneed and husband Chad and their two children, Mason, and Ayla. Jackie was a loving husband, father grandfather, brother and uncle, who will be missed by all. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Denise Leonard, his brothers, Boyd Leonard, Robert Leonard Jr., Herman Leonard, Dean Leonard, also preceding are his sisters, Ruby Essick, Pauline Weaver, Mae Smith.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 56 years, Peggy Gaynell (Nell) Freedle Leonard of the home, son, Buddy Leonard of Winston Salem; grandson, Zach Leonard of Winston Salem; his sister, Lois Weaver of Lexington, and several nieces and nephews.
