Jacob Ramoth Queen, 85, of Paddington Drive died Saturday November 12, 2016, at Brookdale of Lexington. A funeral service will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Paul’s Chapel, where he was a member, with Rev. Aaron Long officiating services. Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday at The Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, North Carolina. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 5 to 7 pm, Thursday November 17. Mr. Queen was born April 30, 1931 in Davidson County to Lawson Dee Queen and Eva Mae Payne Queen. He was a United States Army Veteran, and was preceded in death by his parents, his previous wife, Joyce Marie Delph Queen a brother Jasper Queen and a sister Marie Hartman. Surviving is his wife Peggy Jordan Queen, of the home; two sons, Ted Queen and wife Tonya of Durham and Tim Queen and wife Cheryl of Winston Salem; three daughters, Trina Queen of Atlanta Georgia, Tammy Stover of Kernersville and Judy Simmons of Havelock North Carolina; four sisters, Tootsie Green and husband Ron, Christine Watson and husband Dale, Gracie Hicks and husband Junior, and Elsie Koontz all of Lexington; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Sonya Queen Merritt.
