She graduated from Lexington High School class of 1953. She married the one Love of her life, Lindsay Thomason, on April 5, 1958, who preceded her in death on February 28, 2015. She loved people and was always giving to others serving her community delivering Meals on Wheels. She worked for the City of Lexington for 20 years as School Crossing Guard where she loved the children that she walked safely across the street. The children, now adults, would sometimes approach her and thank her for helping them as they remembered her. She loved collecting pigs, was on a bowling league and just loved life itself. She also leaves behind one sister, Alice Clodfelter, of Welcome, who would bring a smile to her face each time she visited and many nieces and nephews and cousins.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to the many people at the Hinkle Hospice House.  In lieu of flowers gifts may be made to Hinkle Hospice House, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
