Jacquelynne Cairns Holland, of Sequoia Drive, Lexington, formerly of Alexandria, VA, passed away Sunday afternoon surrounded by family.
A memorial service and burial will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery, in the Fort Myer Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm this Thursday evening at the home of her daughter, Gwen Greathouse, 103 Sequoia Drive, Lexington.
Jacquelynne was born in Essex County, NJ to Paul Matthews and Anna Marthis Cairns. She was a homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Col. Paul Robert Holland, Jr. (Ret) in 1993. Jackie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a good friend to many. A strong, determined and tenacious woman, she dedicated her life in support of her husband’s military career, raising her two children, and numerous charities for which she care so passionately.
She is survived by her daughter, Gwen Greathouse (Skip) of Lexington; son, Paul Robert Holland, III (Laurie) of Herndon, VA; grandchildren, Kelly Greathouse (fiance’ James), Blair Stultz (Harold), Paul Greathouse (Meg), Cyndi Darnell (Kirk), Jennifer Guevarra (Ferdinand), Matthew Holland and Meghan Holland; 6 great-grandchildren; close friends, Mitchell and Shelly Forrest.
The family would like to thank her caregivers for all their love and support: Judy Bailey, Debbie Davis, Audrey Koonts, Pat Stultz and Hospice of Davidson County.
