Jake Potts

Jacob Sowers Potts, Jr., 63, a resident of Lexington, passed away Saturday, December 25, 2021 at his residence. Jake was born on June 19, 1958 in Davidson County to the late Jacob Potts, Sr. and Lois Trexler Potts. On June 26, 1993 he married LaVerne Justice. Jake enjoyed being outside to “piddle” with anything he could. He worked on cars, boats, and was an upholsterer. Jake thoroughly enjoyed his job with Food Lion and working alongside his coworkers. He was a man who loved his family very much. He loved spending time with them all. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Potts.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 3, 2021 in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 5-7 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Forest Hill Memorial Park.

Jake is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, LaVerne Potts, of the home; his children, Eric Potts (Missy) of Statesville, Travis Potts (Riann) of Clayton, Jennifer Trantham (Allen Bowman, Jr.) of Lexington, and Ashley Laws (Kevin Sanford) of Lexington; brothers, Kevin Potts (Mary Jane) of Lexington and Mark Potts (Lyndal) of Salisbury; and nine grandchildren, Mason, Karrington, Marissa, Emma, Peyton, Kainon, Brawley, Aaryn, and Courtlen.
