Jakup Ross Koonts

Jakup Ross Koonts, 81, of Rowe Road in Lexington, passed away Friday February 25, 2022 at the Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family will receive friends at the home.

Mr. Koonts was born March 31, 1940 in Davidson County to Ross Prather Koonts and Mildred Katherine Leonard Koonts. Jakup was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church and in his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Judy Lynn Veach Koonts  of the home; a son, Sam Gray Koonts of Lexington; two sisters, Brenda Bruton and Carmel Ritchie (Jerry) both of Lexington; 2 grandchildren, Courtney Koonts and Jakup Ross Koonts and1 great-grandchild, Brayden Harrell.
