James Hoyt “PeeWee” Allred, 83, of Allred Road, died Monday, October 31, 2011, at Hinkle Hospice House following an extended illness.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, November 3, 2011, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Frankie Matthews and John Spry officiating. Burial with military graveside rites will follow in Grace Alliance Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at the funeral home and other times at the home.
Mr. Allred was born August 29, 1928, in Davidson County, to William Oscar Allred and Viola Burkhart Allred. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict; was co-owner of Allred Brothers Sawmill and a member of Sheets Memorial Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Bobby Allred and Dean Allred.
Surviving are his loving wife of 58 years, Billie Dean Spry Allred; daughter, Sherry Allred Brown and husband, Robert, of Lexington; sister, Rogene Pressley; and sisters-in-law, Wanda Allred and Joann Allred, both of Lexington.
