James Robert Beck, Sr.

James Robert Beck Sr., 84, of Burkhart Road, Lexington, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Lexington Rehab.

A celebration of his life will be held at 1:00pm Friday, May 10, 2024, at Grace Missionary Alliance Church, where he was a member, with Pastor Tim Higgs officiating. A private burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home.

James was born August 27, 1939, in Davidson County, to Arlie Millard Beck and Elsie Walker Beck. He retired from Mid-State Oil Company. James was a devoted member of the church and the church family. His passion was his faith, church, family and especially his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren. James was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, who will be missed by all. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Priscilla Lynette Hunt Beck, who died August 25, 2012; son, Timothy Dwayne Beck; grandson, Matthew Feezor, and brother, Bufford Earl Beck.

Left to cherish his memories are his sons, James Robert “Bobby” Beck Jr. and wife Diane, Jeremy Beck and fiancé Maria Bivens; daughters, Tanja Beck Feezor and husband Roger, all of Lexington, and Wendy Beck Butler and husband Paul of Jamestown; eight grandchildren, Katie, Sam, Jennifer, Daniel, Will, Coral, Archer, and Tanner; six great-grandchildren, Tristan, Ciara, Taylor, Palmer, John Ridge, and Declan, and one great-great grandchild, Millie Marie Beck King and special bonus grandchildren Arya and Emory Bivens, Greg Foushee III, and Tony and Andy Nguyen. Also surviving are his brother, Arlie M. “Buddy” Beck Jr., sister, Patty Jewel Beck, both of Lexington.
