James Ralph Billings

Mr. James R. Billings, age 83 of Decatur, GA formerly of Winston-Salem passed away Saturday, January 7, 2012 in Dekalb County Medical Center in Georgia. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 12, 2012 in the Mausoleum Chapel of Parklawn Memorial Park with Rev. David Carter officiating and entombment will follow with Military Honors. James was born in Wilkes County, NC January 24, 1928 to James Gordon Billings and Ruby Parks Billings. He was retired from the US Navy with 20 years of service and later worked for Strohs Brewery in Winston-Salem. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Jo Bauguss Billings in 2000. Surviving are one daughter, Vickie Billings Rupnow and husband Dan of Atlanta, GA; two sons, Greg Billings and wife Leticia of Clearwater, FL, Joseph Billings and wife Carla of Lois, SC; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Ruth Williamson of Clemmons. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association, Piedmont/NC Chapter, 1315 Ashleybrook Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is assisting the family.
