It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Arnold Bryan, who departed this life on December 8, 2025, in Mocksville, North Carolina. Born on January 25, 1941, in Forsyth County, to the late, David and Annie Causey Bryan. James lived a life marked by warmth, dedication, and a deep love for those around him.

James enjoyed a fulfilling career, retiring from RJR. His professional life was characterized by hard work and commitment, leaving a lasting impression on his colleagues and the industry.


Beyond his professional endeavors, James found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was particularly fond of his cats, finding companionship and comfort in their presence. His kind and gentle nature shone through in all aspects of his life, making him a beloved figure in his community. As a member of Good Hope Methodist Church, James found solace and community in his faith.


James leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. He is survived by his son, Teddy Bryan, who will forever cherish the memories they shared. His family was the center of his world, and he always found joy in their company. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Rose Mary Sowers Bryan and by his brothers and sisters, Robert, David, John, Mary Sue, Peggy and Alice. Surviving are his son, Teddy Bryan (Stephanie) and Timmy Bryan all of Lexington. Three Grandchildren Austin Bryan (Katlyn), Jarrett and Clayton. Three great Grandchildren, Silas, Liam and Kyndal, and special nephew Mark Bryan.


A graveside service will be held 3: 00pm Friday December 12, 2025, Good Hope Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will take place at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel from 1:30- 2:30 pm prior to the graveside service.


James will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. May his soul find eternal peace.
