James Samuel Byerly

James “Jimmy” Samuel Byerly, age 74, of Linwood passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice in Salisbury.

A funeral service will be at 12pm Friday, January 11, 2019 at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Pastor Edward (Buster) Pigg and burial to follow at Lakeview Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will see friends from 11am until noon prior to the service.

Mr. Byerly was born October 30, 1944 in Rowan County to Boyce Coolidge Byerly and Ruth Marie Elliott Byerly. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marie Byerly. He retired from Fiber/Daniels Construction and had also worked for Thomas Built Buses and Richard Childress Racing. He loved Nascar and his favorite driver was Bobby Allison. In his younger days, he loved riding his motorcycle.

Surviving are his daughters, Lisa Byerly of Linwood and  Dana Byerly Holloman and her husband Michael Holloman of Louisburg, NC; his grandaughter, Ragan Holloman of Louisburg and his brother, Charles Byerly and his wife, Mary, of Linwood. Also surviving is his niece, Amy Byerly, of Linwood.
