James Marvin Colston Jr.

James Marvin Colston Jr., 68, of Jake Shoaf Road, died Thursday, February 25, 2010, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center following a serious illness. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, February 28, 2010, at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel with the Rev. Roger Weisner and Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the home. Mr. Colston was born September 11, 1941, in Ruthledge, Ga., to James Marvin Colston Sr. and Leila Estella Harper Harrison Colston. He was a retired carpenter and of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by half brothers, Leonard Harrison and James Harrison; and granddaughter, Cynthia Colston. Surviving are his wife, Peggy Crawford Colston of the home; sons, Michael Colston and wife, Martha, Ronnie Colston and wife, Lisa, and James Colston and wife, Sharon, all of Welcome; daughters, Donna Colston of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Vivian Myers and husband, Donald, of Welcome; seven special grandchildren; four special great-grandchildren; half brother, Roy Harrison of Tennessee; and half sisters, Elizabeth Green of Lexington and Ruby Russell of Atlanta, Ga.
