James “Bob” Robert Dillard, 90, of Sebring Florida, passed away Friday November 25, 2022.
A graveside service will be held 3:00 pm Saturday December 10, 2022 at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Mr. Dillard was born January 9, 1932 in Davidson County to John Sherman Dillard and Hessie Hall Dillard. He graduated from Linwood High School in June 1950 and then attended Davidson County Community College and qualified to take the State Exam for Mechanical and Electrical Contractor License. Then he and his wife founded “Dillard Heating and Air Conditioning” and continued to operate the business until they retired in 1998 and moved to Florida. At this point Jeff Causey bought the business and continues to operate under the same name. Jeff had worked with Bob for 10 years prior to taking over ownership. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Shirley Maxine Payne Dillard; and his brother Joe Dillard.
Surviving is his sister Martha Trantham (Tom) of Lexington, nieces, Tracy Roberts (Steve) of Lexington, and Mollie Muldoon (Bill) of Myrtle Beach, SC, nephews Tim Trantham (Kristie) of Lexington, TJ Trantham (Erin) of Concord, NC, and Tommy (Michelle) Trantham of Lexington. He is also survived by six great nieces and a great nephew and a friend and health surrogate, Susan Lindsay, RN of Sebring Florida.
