James William “Bill” Dinwiddie Sr., 73, of South NC Hwy 150, died Saturday February 2, 2008 at NE Medical Center in Concord, after a brief Illness.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday February 6, 2008 at Forest Hill Park Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Fred Archer officiating with interment to follow.
Mr. Dinwiddie was born on January 16, 1935 in Davidson County to Edgar LeHew Dinwiddie and Mildred Redwine Dinwiddie. He was retired from State Farm Insurance, a graduate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill earning a Bachelor of Arts degree and Juris Doctorate; lifetime member of UNC Alumni association and long time member of Rams Club; lifetime member of Sons of Confederate Veterans and local chapter of Sons of Confederate Veterans, and of the Baptist faith. He was also a very dedicated volunteer of the Davidson County Library.
Surviving are his wife Sybil Johnson Dinwiddie of the home; his son, James (Jim) Dinwiddie Jr. and wife, Jamie, of Kannapolis, his mother, Mildred Redwine Dinwiddie of Lexington, a brother, Thomas Pierce Dinwiddie and wife, Diane, of Churchland; and a sister, Jean Hilman of Gastonia.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday and again from 9:30 to 10:30 am on Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home.
