James Edwin Duck

James Edwin Duck, age 80, of Holly Grove Road, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 2, 2018 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.   Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Middle Fork Missionary Baptist Church in Mars Hill, NC with the Rev. Steve Barber officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington on Saturday, February 3 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and at the church from 2:00 to 3:00 pm on Sunday before the service.   Mr. Duck was born in Madison County, NC on August 26, 1937 to Pender Duck and Bertha Chandler Duck, who preceded him in death.  He was a retired furniture repairer for Lexington Furniture Plant 8 and was of the Baptist faith.   Surviving are his loving wife of the home, Laura Kaye Triplett Duck; son, David Nifong of Wilkesboro; daughter, Denise Hope (Billy James Wood) of Wilkes County; brothers, Everett Duck of Clemmons and PJ Duck of Asheville; and sisters, Elizabeth Willis of Newton; Shirley Strum of Durham; and Marie Duck of Marion.
