James Franklin Everidge Sr., age 81 of Owens Road, Lexington, passed away Saturday morning (September 19, 2009) at his home. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday (September 22, 2009) in the Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel conducted by Rev. Ed Armfield, with burial at 2:00 p.m. in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Charlotte, N. C. with military honors.
Mr. Everidge was born February 15, 1928 in Charlotte N.C. to Erby and Sarah Deese Everidge. He was retired from the U.S. Navy having served in World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Roger Dale Everidge Sr.,a brother E. J. Everidge and a great- granddaughter Amber Cochran.
James is survived by his wife Helen Everidge of the home; two sons Don Everidge of Rockwell N.C. and Frank Everidge Jr. of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; three daughters Sarah Knox and Charlotte Everidge both of Charlotte, N.C. and Kari Lynn Benge of Lexington; 10 grandchildren and 9 great- grandchildren.
The family will see friends 6:00-8:00 PM Monday (September 21, 2009) at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home on Owens Road.
