James Edwin Forrest, age 88 of Brookstone Retirement Center, formerly of Highway 47, Lexington passed away Friday afternoon, July 29, 2016 at Brookstone.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, August 1, 2016 at Center Hill Baptist Church with Revs. Brian Alexander and Lamar Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Davidson Funeral Home from 5:00 until 7:00 pm Sunday.
James was born in Davidson County, November 14, 1927 to John William and Hattie Butler Forrest. He was a retired employee of Burlington Furniture and a member of Center Hill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Betty Jean Hendricks, Maggie Meeks, Carol Carpenter and Willa Mae Hunt; brothers, Wayne, Bill, Harvey, Todd, Mock and Jackie Forrest.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Joan Poag Forrest of the home; daughter, Diane McCarn (Lynn) of Lexington; sons, Randy Forrest (Brenda) and Danny Forrest (Pam) both of Lexington; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Brookstone and Hospice of Davidson County for all their love and support given to James during his sickness.
