James Howard Haltom, 84, of Lexington went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, September 2, 2022, at his home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Bethany United Methodist Church with the Revs. David Talbert and Michelle Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 pm until 8 pm on Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.
Mr. Haltom was born in Randolph County on April 28, 1938, to Howard Milton Haltom and Fallie Floyd Haltom. He was a retired electrician, having worked over 40 years at Thomas Built Buses and served in the National Guard. Mr. Haltom was a dedicated member of Bethany United Methodist Church where he was active with the children’s ministry, the poor man’s suppers, and the BBQ chicken fundraisers. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather whose memory will be cherished forevermore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Wayne and Gene Haltom.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Betty “Sue” Kearns Haltom; four sons, Lee Haltom (Lisa), Allen Haltom (Tammy), Glen Haltom, and Guy Haltom (Katie); and his five grandchildren, Olivia, Quincy, Aaron, Andrew (Sofia), Grady, and Pacey.
