James “Jay” Clyde Huffman, 74, of Bristol Street, died Friday, January, 30, 2009, at Lexington Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, February 2, 2009, at Davidson Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Marshburn, minister of Landmark Pentecostal Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Huffman was born May 2, 1934, in Wilkes County, to James William Huffman and Rosa Ida Church Huffman. He was a handyman and attended Landmark Pentecostal Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Cornelius Huffman and Herman Huffman; and a sister, Ruth Lou Morris.
Surviving are a longtime friend, Arizona Tyree; his son, James Clyde Huffman Jr. of Lexington; daughters, Shirley Huffman Love, Doris Huffman and Patricia Huffman Delk, all Lexington; eight grandchildren; eight-grandchildren; sister, Naomi Martin of Lexington; four half-brothers, Larry Huffman, J.R. Huffman, Tommy Huffman, and J.W. Huffman; and three half-sisters, Irene Rob
inson, Gladys Brinkley, Barbara Sue Norman; and.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday February 1, 2009, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
