James Harding Ireland, 83 of West Center Street Extension passed away Friday, June 24 at
the Brian Center.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 Monday at Lexington Church of God with the
Rev. Lonnie Daughtery and Rev. Tommy Cashett officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Mr. Ireland was born on August 22, 1927 in Davie County to Robert Phillip Ireland and Emma Danner Ireland. He was a member of Lexington Church of God and a retired maintenance foreman with the NC Department of Transportation. Preceding him in death was a brother Paul Ireland and a sister Robbie Elizabeth Myers.
Surviving are his wife Ella Mae Gentle Ireland of the home, daughters Carolyn Ireland Moore and
and husband Buddy of Gastonia and DeWilla Ireland and husband Mitchell Bryant of Welcome; grandchildren Shane Moore, Nathan Sink and wife Cori and Jonathan Sink and wife Kelly;
great-grandchildren Peyton and Cohen Moore, Kenzie and Rylee Sink and Adi and Graci Sink.
