James "Jim" Lee Chaney

James Lee “Jim” Chaney, age 81 of Sunshine Lane, Lexington passed away Thursday afternoon, June 15, 2017 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Coggins Memorial Baptist Church with Dr. Dearl Bunce officiating. Jim was born in Rockingham County September 19, 1935 to Troy Henry Chaney and Bertha Summers Chaney. He was a graduate of Guilford College; the retired owner-operator of Chaney Motor Company. He was a member of Coggins Memorial Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and on the finance committee. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Dorothy “Dot” Walsh Chaney. Surviving are his sons; Troy Lee Chaney (Anna Maria) of Raleigh, Tony Miklich of Lexington; daughter, Debbie Miklich Eckard of Lexington; grandchildren, Conner and Noah Chaney, Molly and David Eckard; sister, Sandra R.
