James “Jim” Howard Cook Sr., 68, died Wednesday, February 17, 2016.
A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2016, at Bethel Cemetery with military graveside rites by Davidson County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.
Mr. Cook was born July 1, 1947, in New Hanover County, to James Stevens and Iva Eugenia Pepper Smith. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard; was a retired pilot from Superior Aero Services. Mr. Cook attended Tyro United Methodist Church. His parents preceded him in death.
Surviving are son, James “Jamie” Cook Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC; daughter, Jerri Baio and husband Mike of Lexington; five grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth Cook and wife Donna of Denton; and fiance’ Patty Lou Younts of the home.
